Sand Canyon National 9 Inn

My room was clean and orderly. This is an older property and shows it, but it has been maintained. Contrary to what I have read in other reviews, there were no strange or unpleasant odors. The room was clean and everything functioned with the exception of a burned out light bulb. I would have liked an electrical outlet by the bed but that was not an issue which would make me skip this location. The parking lot is small, 1950s-60s roadside motor inn sized, pulling a trailer would be an issue in the main lot and I am not sure if there is an alternate area. All in all a great place to sleep during a trip.

Room was really nice especially after a 6hr ride from central AZ. It could use a touch of paint here or there and maybe a new shower head but otherwise I was extremely satisfied. And I know it sounds odd but those were the best pillows I have ever slept on…… I haven’t been able to find a hotel with pillows like that yet. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely kind and willing to help us with whatever we needed. He even moved his own car so we could park our motorcycles in a safe area right in front of our room. The room was pretty large which was also nice.

I stayed at the Sand Canyon National 9 Inn for one night in July 2025. The room was around $70. The A/C unit was old and didn't look like it was in great shape but it cranked out nice cold air in which was relief from the 98 degree heat outside. The fridge worked and did not have any odd smells. TV/Cable worked fine. Fixtures in the restroom were dated but everything worked. Room was generally clean. If you are in the area and need a room that doesn't break the bank, the Sand Canyon National 9 Inn is a viable option.

This isn't most people's first choice. We had been on the road for 13 hours and everything else was booked up. The room is over priced compared to other locations. I can't complain because the gentleman at desk was very polite and very helpful. He was very courteous. The room did not smell bad as other reviews said. Must have fixed the problem. Bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and had great pressure. The AC worked like a charm. Woke up cold. It was great for a pit stop or even if just sleeping and then spending day out in town. As long as it's clean and I can quietly sleep I'm happy. I had no issues with my room. I've stayed in Airbnbs worse than this room.

Sand Canyon is old motel for sure but it comes at a money saving rate. My room was clean. My bed was very comfortable. The toilet seat is a little loose. There was plenty of hot water. And best of all the room was quiet. Oh another big plus is park my motorcycle right at the door to my room. Yes I was very satisfied with my stay.

Very very clean, exceptional room, beds were very comfortable. Shower was hot with great pressure the room felt very large. Security cameras all outside felt very very safe. Don't be fooled by the outside it's amazing in the rooms! Staff was friendly and welcoming!! Will stay here every time I'm in the area!!

I don't know why so many bad reviews, we had a great experience. Very nice owners, very attentive. Rooms were clean and pretty big for the money. Bed was good, nice clean pool. They had a nice little continental breakfast. We had a wonderful experience. Would recommend for anyone traveling through a very good place for the money.

Stayed here despite the negative reviews because it was the only place I could afford that wasn't booked out. I was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely an older motel that hasn't been updated in a long time but the rooms were still perfectly clean and comfortable and the owner was very nice, he made a fresh pot of coffee just for me.
